Shakespeare Conquest is a year-long course created by the Leadership Education Mentoring Institute (LEMI) which utilizes the classic writings of William Shakespeare, the historical context of the Elizabethan period, and the mechanics of acting to aid students in recognizing they can be part of something great, be someone great, and contribute something uniquely theirs to the world. As with all LEMI courses, a strong emphasis is placed on high values and personal mission.
This class culminates in a full production of a Shakespeare play.
If your child took Shakespeare Conquest last year, they can take it again this year and will be provided with new challenges and tasks to supplement the material. They also will get to take on some student mentoring roles.

In this class, you will learn the typical information covered in a high school level Botany class. You also will be introduced to botanical drawing and nature sketching. However, the scope of this class is so much more. The hope is you will come to a greater understanding of our connectedness to the natural world in which you live. In so doing, the goal is for you to have the desire to be a cooperative, contributing, mutualistic member of your environment and community. In science, a mutualistic relationship is one in which both parties benefit. Through this class, it is hoped you will come to see the value of your individual gifts and talents and how they can benefit you, your community, and the earth.

This class is a full school year that will take students through building various robot base models, how to customize their builds to complete missions, and all of the Spike Prime coding principles needed for personal use or to be a contributing member of an FLL team.
Coding and challenges will increase in difficulty with each week building in a steady progression. Ideally students for this class have had some coding exposure. Familiarity with basic Scratch coding is very helpful.
Students will work in pairs to complete their building and coding challenges using the LEGO Spike Prime kit and an iPad.
Please note that space is limited. While families can choose to pay the tuition monthly, this class is for the school year September to May. After the class is full, a wait list will be created for additional students.
